Tell me about Jesus
At 'Tell Me About Jesus', we are here to help you discover the person of Jesus. By being on this website we believe you are embarking on an exciting journey.
You can read books and study history to learn about him but we want to show you a shortcut to discover him for yourself. He is still active in the world today and believe as you engage with the resources shared you will find him to be real today.
Here are a few things you can try:
- Read the "core message of Jesus" section below to hear what it's all about. Jesus told his followers to tell this message to everyone and hence you can find out this message for yourself further down.
- Try the Gospel of John challenge. The gospel of John is part of the Bible and was written by one of Jesus' followers with the aim to introduce you to the person of Jesus. As you read through the gospel of John you will get to read some of Jesus teachings and hear about his miracles.
- Reading the Bible. The Bible is full of stories of people who have had encountered God and can lead you into experiencing God for yourself. If you are unsure where to start try reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as they document Jesus' life.
- Coffee and Bible. If you have a Christian friend you can ask them if they will read the Bible with you to help you understand it more.
- On most app stores you will be able to find a Bible produced by Youversion which has reading plans on there which help you to learn more.
The core message
The message of Jesus can simply be put as this:
That God created you to live in relationship with him. You were created out of love for a plan and a purpose.
We as humans have fallen short of that plan and purpose by the wrong choices we made. This broke our relationship with God.
We could not make up for this by good works. God sent his son Jesus to die for us on the cross to be the sacrifice to restore our relationship with God.
He then rose again on the third day to model the new life that is available to us to; that we can start again no matter what our past is.
This is the good news of Christianity. However we can not merely hear the message but need to decide whether we want to respond to it.
To accept God's offer the Bible says that we need to do the following:
1) Believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again.
2) Confess Jesus as Lord. This basically means to choose to do life his way not ours.
There is no magical words for this but it's good to start your new relationship with God with a prayer like the following:
Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to die for me. I am sorry for my wrong choices and choose to turn away from them and live for you today. Come into my life and make me anew. Amen

If you don’t feel ready to follow God or simply don’t believe it I would encourage you to simply tell God that you don’t believe it and for him to show that he is real and be ready to experience him as you work through the other materials on this website.
